Medialets Deploys First Interactive Video Ad on NPR News App
On Wednesday, Medialets launched the first interactive video ad on an iPhone app. The ad, for the Vampire Weekends new CD release was placed in the NPR News applications.
The original ad is unobtrusive and pops up at the bottom of the app. Clicking it revels a fully interactive video ad. Once revealed, the ad represents a whole new level of interactive advertising on the iPhone. Heck, the ad is impressive for the desktop. Typical iPhone interactions are used to control the ad. Shake the phone to change the video, rotate the phone to move the cover off the screen. It’s well thought out and a great indication of where advertising is going on the iPhone.
This is an example to new advertising methods being used to grab more eyeballs and to increase the interaction time with users. All being done to increase the effectiveness of advertising on advanced platforms like the iPhone.
Here’s a video that shows you the ad and the interaction.
