iPhone OS 3.0 Compatibility Now Required For App Approval
Apple today sent out a message to registered iPhone developers that all apps submitted to the App Store should be compatible with the 3.0 version of the iPhone OS. Starting today, applications that are not compatible with 3.0 will not be approved.
In addition, apps already approved and in the store that are not compatible may be removed once the 3.0 OS is released for consumers.
The consumer release of 3.0 is expected by most sometime between June and July of this year. Perhaps as soon as WWDC which starts June 8th in San Francisco.

Hopefully it will bring up some cool new apps.
With this Iphone OS 3.0 the iPhone and iPod touch will have the capability to communicate with each other through a bluetooth connection allowing for multiple possibilities ranging from multiplayer gaming to file sharing. A nice feature is that iPod touch users do not need a Wi-fi network for the p2p to work.
