iPhone OS 3.0 Compatibility Now Required For App Approval

iphone-os-preview-hero20090317 Apple today sent out a message to registered iPhone developers that all apps submitted to the App Store should be compatible with the 3.0 version of the iPhone OS. Starting today, applications that are not compatible with 3.0 will not be approved.

In addition, apps already approved and in the store that are not compatible may be removed once the 3.0 OS is released for consumers.

The consumer release of 3.0 is expected by most sometime between June and July of this year. Perhaps as soon as WWDC which starts June 8th in San Francisco.
