PUBG Mobile teams up with global phenomenon SpyxFamily for theme goodies

Posted by Shaun Walton on April 15th, 2024

Since launching in 2019, SpyxFamily has exploded to damn near catastrophic popularity, so it was only a matter of time before a mobile game snapped up a collaboration. Enter PUBG Mobile. Until May 12th, players will be able to collect a host of themed items and sets to show off their fandom.

SpyxFamily follows the story of a spy who is forced to create the perfect family to get close to a target. Taking the moniker of Loi Forger, he marries Yor Briar, who unbeknownst to him is an assassin, and adopts an orphan named Anya, a telepath, which again neither is aware of. The humour from this has shifted 34 million copies of the manga.

Created alongside developers Gaziter and Deadpan Games, Wildfrost will frost you into the thick of the freeze with only your deck to protect you.

In a world taken over by the titular Wildrfrost, it is down to you to strike out across a world of beautiful, frozen landscapes in a bid to reach the mystical Sun Temple, said to be the only way to vanquish the frost and save the world. Your survival, and indeed that of the world, rests on the power of your cards.

Marvel Future Fight celebrates nine years by throwing a heap of characters at its players

Posted by Shaun Walton on April 10th, 2024

Announced alongside an advertising image I can only assume was aimed squarely at myself with the prominent Deadpool and Odin featured on it, Netmarble has revealed their celebrations for the 9th anniversary of Marvel Future Fight. The Countdown Event will be building all month up until the big day.

If you have not played it, Marvel Future Fight is an action RPG where you put together a squad of three of your favourite superheroes from a pool of over 200, and do what they do best; wanton collateral damage. Think of a mobile version of the Marvel Alliance games, complete with the only team that matters; Deadpool, Cable, and Domino.

HoYoFair 2024 prepares to showcase over ten lovingly made fan films on April 13th

Posted by Shaun Walton on April 9th, 2024

To say Genshin Impact took the world by storm when it was released would be an understatement. However, I think the most surprising part of the launch was just how much further it went than gaming. There have been concerts, art shows, massive conventions, and now, the 2024 Genshin Impact Fan Art Special Program.

Genshin Impact is, in my biased opinion, a fantastically beautiful game, so it is no wonder that fans have all flocked to work on their own little art projects for it. Instead of clamping down on it or ignoring it, HoYoverse instead has embraced it, putting together a program to celebrate their fandom.

Explore some of BBCs' most iconic series in Roblox with BBC Wonder Chase

Posted by Shaun Walton on April 8th, 2024

Despite your personal opinion on the BBC at a managerial level, it is undeniable that it has overseen some fantastic British shows in the past, and now thanks to a partnership with Roblox, players will be able to interact with some of these biggest titles in BBC Wonder Chase.

When you load into this new world you will be in Wonder Central, a city set on the water, possibly an allusion to Britain itself. Here you meet noted documentary makers, Louis Theroux and Zera McDermott, laugh with CCBC’s Hacker T Gog, or take part in a red nose game from Comic Relief. After this, there are four more parts to explore.

Play Together teams up with Sanrio to bring some iconic characters to Kaia Island

Posted by Shaun Walton on April 5th, 2024

I was quite surprised to learn that the massive social network game Play Together had never collaborated with the globally popular Sanrio IP, it seems like the perfect team. Well, this glaring omission has now been rectified, as that instantly recognisable feline and friends head to Kaia Island.

By heading to Downtown Kaia Island you will be able to spot a new building that has opened, and by this I mean you will be unable to miss the giant pink hotel. Cross its threshold, and you will find yourself mobbed by a host of cute characters. Hello Kitty, My Melody, and Cinnamoroll are but a few of the new friends you will make.

Dark and Darker Mobile gets a new teaser trailer showing a glimpse of the pitfalls of spleunking for fortune

Posted by Shaun Walton on April 4th, 2024

Bluehole Studio and KRAFTON have released a new teaser trailer for their upcoming loot extravaganza Dark and Darker Mobile. Alongside this look into the underside of treasure hunting, we have received a few pieces of information about gameplay modes and other offerings.

Dark and Darker Mobile is an extraction RPG, the type of game where you charge into a map and try to gather as much as you can then escape before invariably getting sniped. The difference here is that Bluehole has done away with the usual guns, and instead, you will have to embrace your inner medieval warrior to succeed.

DOFUS Touch relaunches on the global stage with a new English Server

Posted by Shaun Walton on April 3rd, 2024

After being a big part of a lot of gamers - or at the very least my - school years with Dofus and Wakfu, Ankama sort of shied away from the global stage a bit before staging a big comeback with Waven last year. Now, the France-based developers are taking another step on their march to global domination, with a global relaunch of DOFUS Touch.

Originally launched back in 2016, DOFUS Touch plops you in the middle of the World of Twelve, with nothing but a pocketful of dreams and one goal; learn about the mysterious and powerful dragon eggs called Dofus. It's an interesting world, and one whose lore feeds directly into the Wakfu Netflix series, if you like your world-building.

In this folktale world where to hear means to be cursed, you'll have to battle wolfish monstrosities coming at you from all sides to save the townsfolk and look for your lost brother in the process.

Netmarble celebrates Easter with events in four of its biggest titles

Posted by Shaun Walton on April 2nd, 2024

One of the many good things about holding a suitcase full of titles is the ability to truly embrace each holiday, and Netmarble is doing just this with four of its top games. To celebrate Easter, players will be able to jump into their favourite games and get some goodies.

Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds fans looking for a change of aesthetics will be pleased, as you can pick up a set to turn you into a sort of les resolutions squiggle monster. Yes, you can get yourself the Lucky Golden Higgledy Doll Clothes Costume Chest and the same Hat Costume Chest to become the game’s mascot. It's not April 1st anymore, but you can still look a fool.

MLB Perfect Inning 24 hits a home running with its latest update

Posted by Shaun Walton on April 1st, 2024

Ask someone to name America's biggest sports and they will probably name Basketball or Football. However, there is a third, the often-named America’s Favourite Pastime, Baseball. It might be slower to watch but still fun to play, and the officially licenses MLB Perfect Inning 24 has just come out with a major new season.

Lending their image to this update is acclaimed Shortstop for the Texas Rangers' - formally the Los Angeles Dodgers - Corey Seager. After storming his debut season and picking up Rookie of the Year, he has gone on to notch up four All-Star appearances, and two World Series MVP awards. To celebrate his ambassadorship, his card will provide players with improved stats.

Whitethorn Games combines two completely different pastimes in Skate Fish

Posted by Shaun Walton on March 28th, 2024

If you have ever gone fishing then you know that it is a lesson in patience, sitting around waiting for a bite that may never come. Well, that's because you have been doing it wrong, since as Whitehorn Games now demonstrates in new release Skate Fish, the only way to catch a fish is with sick skateboarding tricks.

Indeed it is that combination you never knew you needed; Tony Hawk Pro Skater meets Fishing Planet, for the only way to land a fish in this world is by impressing them with your epic tricks. Using a two-finger touch control reminiscent of those old finger decks, you can land your prey with a variety of tricks.

Call of Duty Warzone is a Waiting Simulator

It's always fun when a splashy multiplayer game comes to mobile because they are few and far between, so I was excited to see the notification about Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile (finally) launching last week and wanted to try it out. As someone who was familiar with the PC version of the game, I thought I had a good sense of what to expect, but I was surprised to find myself quickly bored with the mobilized battle royale.

To be clear, Warzone Mobile doesn't seem to do anything drastically different than its console and PC counterpart. In fact, it retains its high player count, boasting now to be the mobile battle royale with the highest amount of live players per match. It also retains all of the features that distinguish the Call of Duty-branded battle royale apart from the others. So, I guess what I'm saying is that before you read on, know that if you are just interested in knowing how much Warzone Mobile is like Warzone, the answer is very.
